December 21, 2021 – Metrus Energy announced today that it has become a signatory to the United Nations-supported Principles for Responsible Investment (PRI).
Launched in 2006, the PRI works to understand the investment implications of environmental, social and governance (ESG) factors and to support its international network of more than 4,300 signatories with over US $121 trillion of assets under management, which represents more than half of the world’s institutionally managed funds. PRI signatories include asset owners, investment managers and service providers.
“Metrus is proud to join this influential group, whose mission of promoting ESG factors into investment and ownership activities aligns nicely with our own mission of making climate-positive investments,” said Bob Hinkle, CEO, Metrus Energy. “As we head into 2022, and a new year of growth and opportunities, Metrus embraces its growing role in the global community as we join forces with like-minded companies that believe in responsible investing and being accountable for our actions.”
Earlier this year, Metrus launched its inaugural Climate-Positive Impact Report. This report tracks the energy savings, CO2 reduction and efficiency of Metrus’ investments in terms of CO2 savings per $1,000 invested across the company’s entire portfolio of Sustainable Energy as a Service projects (SEaaS).
By signing the UN PRI, Metrus commits to adopting the six principles of responsible investment: incorporating ESG issues into investment analysis and decision-making processes; being active owners and incorporating ESG issues into our ownership policies and practices: seeking appropriate disclosure on ESG issues by the entities in which it invests; promoting acceptance and implementation of the Principles within the investment industry; working together to enhance our effectiveness in implementing the Principles; reporting on a regular basis on its activities and progress towards implementing the Principles.
