Metrus Energy announced today a commitment to fund $100 million in energy efficiency transactions to We Are Still In, a coalition of more than 3,500 CEOs, mayors, governors, college presidents, and other leaders committed to climate action.
The $100 million investment of new Efficiency Services Agreement (ESA) deals will avoid approximately 175,000 tons of annual CO2 emissions across the United States. This is equivalent to removing 40,000 cars of the road.
In addition to the many direct environmental benefits that come with this kind of CO2 reduction, it also helps meet the targets set forth in the Paris Agreement – an important Agreement which has fallen out of favor in Washington recently.
Metrus is one of hundreds, if not thousands, of companies that represent a surge in action taken by the business community. From Adobe to Zenith to hundreds of companies in between, the business community has truly led the charge in building a sustainable future for our country and our planet.Between our roles in We Are Still In and the Better Buildings Challenge, we have seen first-hand the critical role being played by financing to accelerate the implementation of energy efficiency across large commercial & industrial customers.
Metrus is a leader in selling energy efficiency as a service, which has earned widespread acceptance in the marketplace with Fortune 500 firms and large institutional facilities.
