Metrus Energy announced a new $12 million Efficiency Services Agreement (ESA) with its Fortune 100 technology customer. This latest transaction encompasses 13 sites and spans eight states. Metrus has now financed $53 million of projects under this nationwide efficiency-as-a-service program. Citi and SmartWatt are partnering again with Metrus on this project. The project will reduce total electricity use for lighting at these 13 sites by 67%, thereby eliminating 21,131 tons of annual CO2 emissions – the equivalent of taking 20,753 cars off the road. This marks the fifth transaction in the last ten months for this customer. The rapid rollout demonstrates the benefits and scalability of Metrus’ ESA. Metrus has now financed projects in 20 different states generating over one billion of kWh savings for its customers.
