Engage Metrus: Engaging Metrus early can lead to deeper energy savings and accelerated project timelines. Contractor Selection: Metrus can work with your ESCO/contractor, or help you select the right one from our strong network. Preliminary Energy Assessment: Metrus works with the ESCO/contractor to identify robust energy savings. We work with you to translate efficiency measures into a technically and financially attractive project. Financing Structure Evaluation: Metrus helps customers evaluate energy efficiency financing alternatives and select the optimal solution. Customer Approval: Metrus distills the economic and operational impact of a project in a straightforward manner for your internal discussion and approval. Fund Project: Metrus put its own capital to work with our lending partners to fund 100 percent of project costs. You benefit from an integrated retrofit project with no out-of-pocket capital expense. Project Level Contracts: Metrus develops and finalizes the key contracts for construction and financing. Final Project Scope: Metrus translates the investment grade audit report into an actionable and financeable final project scope. Investment Grade Audit: The ESCO/contractor will conduct a detailed energy audit to establish the final recommended efficiency measures and baseline for building performance. Project Construction: The selected ESCO/contractor will install the project, typically over a 3 to 9 month period, depending on the efficiency measures included in the project. Metrus oversees this process and makes progress-based payments to the contractor. Project Operations & Identification of New Efficiency Measures: Once a project is operational, Metrus provides ongoing management services, which include paying for maintenance, as well as measurement and verification of energy savings. Metrus will continue to identify and implement additional measures (either at new facilities or new technologies). End of Term: At the end of the term, customers have the option to (i) purchase the equipment at fair market value, (ii) agree with Metrus to extend the original financing for an incremental time period, or (iii) terminate the agreement and ask Metrus to remove relevant equipment. Ongoing Savings: Most projects have expected energy savings well beyond the financing term. If a customer elects to purchase the installed equipment at the end of the term, they’ll benefit from 100% of the savings for the remaining useful life of the installed equipment.
