Market Sectors
Industrial
With Metrus, industrial customers treat energy efficiency as a resource and improve their bottom line. Typical retrofits financed by Metrus incorporate cooling systems, pumps, motors, refrigeration, compressed air systems, control systems, high efficiency lighting and cogeneration. The potential for efficiency improvements is particularly large at facilities that use process heat, including manufacturing, food & beverage, chemical and pharmaceutical plants.
Commercial
With Metrus, building owners lower operating expenses and meet corporate sustainability targets. Office buildings represent the largest share of end-use energy consumption within the commercial market and have widespread potential for lighting retrofits, heating and cooling system upgrades and cogeneration systems. These investment opportunities are available for big box retail, hotels, pharmacy chains, grocery stores and warehouses.
Health Care
With Metrus, Hospitals overcome the dual constraint of rising costs of delivering healthcare services and increasing energy costs. Hospitals in the U.S. spend more than $5 billion annually on energy. Metrus offers hospitals a third-party financing solution to implement facility improvement projects and environmental improvement measures, including HVAC systems upgrade or replacement, waste heat recovery, control systems, high efficiency lighting and bio-waste management programs.
Higher Education
With Metrus, funding campus-wide energy efficiency programs are achieved under a pay-for-performance structure. According to the Department of Energy, colleges and universities spend more than $2 billion on energy each year. Sizeable energy efficiency investment opportunities exist at these facilities, including the upgrade or replacement of HVAC and central plant equipment and the installation of high efficiency lighting and control systems.
